"Adults appreciated Mark Roush's
collection of considerably larger and
heavier handmade wooden swords,
which would traditionally have been
used for training , he said.  The Roush
Wasteres, as they are called, are
branded with an eagle from artwork in
the Book of Kells, a Latin Manuscript
made by Celtic monks in 800 A.D.

The wasters caught the eye of stunt
person Colin Gordon, who considered
buying one to add to his collection.
Gordon was part of the Circle D Ranch
stunt team, which was at the faire to do
swordplay."
